Pursuant to adjournment the Platte County Board of Equalization met in session beginning at nine o’clock in the morning.  Honorable Arnold Stuthman, Chairman, Diane C. Pinger, County Clerk. Roll Call and the following  members present:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman.  The Affidavits of Publication from the Columbus Telegram and the Humphrey Democrat for Notice of Public Meeting were presented.  Motion, Supervisor Woerth, seconded Supervisor Friedrichsen, approve the motor vehicle exemptions as recommended by the County Treasurer, and vote was as follows:   Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman. Voting Nays:  None   Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.               

Motion, Supervisor Franzen, seconded Supervisor Lloyd, approve the Tax Correction No. 13108 for Real Estate and Personal, and vote was as follows:             Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman .Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Woerth, seconded Supervisor Pfeifer, to deny the three permissive exemptions as recommended by the County Assessor, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman. Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.                Motion, Supervisor Lloyd, seconded Supervisor Friedrichsen, to set a hearing date for May 21, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. on the real estate property of the three permissive exemptions presented by the County Assessor, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.   The Chairman declared the board meeting adjourned until April 16, 2002 at 9:00 a.m.

Motion, Supervisor Woerth, seconded Supervisor Tooley, cancel General Fund Warrant No. 02033814 in the amount of $175.00 due to a cancelled subscription by the Public Defenders Office, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Franzen, seconded Supervisor Lloyd, approve the monthly fee reports, and vote was as follows:      Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Friedrichsen, seconded Supervisor Woerth, adopt Resolution No. 02-09 Approving Substitution of Securities for Pinnacle Bank, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. A hearing was held at 9:30 a.m. to consider the issuance of an On Sale Only License to Columbus Hockey & Skate Center, Inc. Motion, Supervisor Franzen, seconded Supervisor Friedrichsen, to conclude the hearing at 9:35 a.m., and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Woerth, seconded Supervisor Lloyd, that the Platte County Board of Supervisors recommend to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission that the On Sale Only License for Columbus Hockey and Skate Center Inc. be granted, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Friedrichsen, seconded Supervisor Franzen, authorize the Chairman to sign the utility application for Heartland Builders, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Franzen, seconded Supervisor Pfeifer, authorize the Chairman to sign the utility agreement for Mark Stock, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. A Industrial Tract Review Hearing was held at 10:00 a.m. between the City of Columbus and the County Board. Motion, Supervisor Franzen, seconded Supervisor Friedrichsen, to conclude the hearing at 10:26 a.m., and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Franzen, seconded Supervisor Friedrichsen, Columbus Sales Pavilion property qualifies to be in the Industrial Tract, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Tooley, Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Franzen, seconded Supervisor Lloyd, there is enough concern to have a hearing on the Bruce D and Mary J. Foreman property with the property owner, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried. Motion, Supervisor Tooley, seconded Supervisor Woerth, the County Board feels there is a possibility of a conflict with Platte Tractor Company & to have a hearing with the property owner, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen and Tooley Voting Nays:  Supervisors Pfeifer and Chairman Stuthman Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.  Committee Reports: Supervisor Woerth stated the Building and Grounds Committee met with the Architect and Builders on the remodeling project of the Courthouse.  Mr. Kreikemeier, Superintendent of the remodeling project was present to answer any questions the Board had.  Supervisor Woerth also wanted to know where they are at with the planning and zoning issue.  He feels we should persue this issue for the benefit of the whole county and would like to see the county go ahead on this.              Supervisor Friedrichsen reported there is a meeting on Friday, March 22, 2002 in Madison for the sole purpose of paying down our debt.  They are having problems with area county not paying their bills, the state of Iowa and the indian population.            Supervisor Pfeifer reported he attended a meeting in Lindsay with Sheriff Zavadil and Deputy Schuller on a E911 Interlocal Agreement.  They have another meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2002.  Supervisor Franzen attended a Ag Land Valuation meeting in Seward with the Assessor’s on March 13, 2002. Motion, Supervisor Friedrichsen, seconded Supervisor Woerth, that the following claims be approved as presented and that the County Clerk be ordered to issue warrants of the same on the General Fund, and vote was as follows: Voting Ayes:  Supervisors Pfeifer, Friedrichsen, Lloyd, Woerth, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Stuthman  Voting Nays:  None Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
