Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Equalization met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Honorable Ronald Pfeifer,Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens,

Freidrichsen,Lloyd,Woerth,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Pfeifer. The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented.Moved and seconded to withdraw protest No. 293 as advised by the Co Assessor.Motion carried.The Chairman adjourned the meeting until 8-19-03 at 9:00a.m.

Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:10a.m. Honorable Ronald Pfeifer, Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens,Friedrichsen,

Lloyd,Woerth,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Pfeifer.Moved and seconded approve the additional one hundred forty-two (142) hours for summer help as requested by the Ext Agent. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to allow the Ext Agent to hire a County Youth Coordinator for the Ext Office.Motion carried.Moved and seconded allow the Ext Agent to replace the secretary that is retiring. Motion carried.Moved and seconded authorize the Public Defender to hire a Dep Public Defender with a salary of $34000.00.Motion carried. Jeff Christensen,NENEDD contract with NENEDD to administer the plan for re-use money.  It was decided to hold this over until the next meeting to give the Board members time to look over the contract. Judge Skorupa discussed Court Appt Atty fees with the Co Bd. Judge Skorupa is requesting the line item of Court Appt Counsel be taken out of their budget and put in a separate fund for better control of their budget. Marlene Vetick, Clk of the Dist Crt would like it to go on the record, she has no problem with the way Crt Appt Counsel is being handled. It shows me what actually is being paid out. Moved and seconded approve the minutes of 7-10-03,7-15-03,7-16-03,7-17-03,7-22-03 and 7-23-03. Public Comments: Dave Bell, Loup PPD, informed the Co Bd he is working on a CDBG grant involving a local company in Platte County. Committee Reports: Supervisor Woerth had a meeting with a rep from Merit Mechanical and Alvine&Assoc on the heating and air conditioning unit in the Clerks Office. Supervisor Franzen, Civil Def brought in the latest breakdown on the homeland security grant contributions. He also attended a meeting with Supervisor Tooley on vehicle storage. It was suggested to build a building out by the jail site or to rent/

lease a building. Supervisor Martens attended a Reg IV meeting in Norfolk. Supervisor Pfeifer stated there is a NENEDD meeting in Norfolk on 8-27-03.
