gen fd,$18554.00.Motion carried.Moved and seconded adopt Res No. 04-05 Approving Substitution of Securities for First Natl Bank.Motion carried.Moved and seconded file the Veterans Aid Exp report for January 2004.Motion carried.Tim Hofbauer discussed homeland security and antivirus renewal with the Co Bd.The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 04-06 WHEREAS, there has been signed by Platte County on the 19th day of February, 1985, and the State on the 1st day of March, 1985, an agreement providing for the construction of a Federal Aid Project at the following location: beginning approximately 0.3 mile north of the Southeast Corner of Section 7, Township 17 North, Range 1 East and extends 8.7 miles north terminating at the Northeast corner of Section 31, Township 19 North, Range 1 East .WHEREAS, in the above agreement, the County has pledged sufficient funds to finance its share of the cost of the construction of this project identified as STPE-3125(6), and WHEREAS, the above mentioned agreement provided that the County would pay all costs not paid for with Federal or State funds, and WHEREAS, the State received bids for the construction of this project on January 29, 2004 at which time 11 bids were received for the construction of this proposed work, and WHEREAS, following contractor(s) for the items of work listed has been selected as the low bidder(s) to whom contract(s) should be awarded: A&R Construction Co.,Plainview,NE Grading, Concrete Pavement, Culverts, Seeding, Bridge and General Items: $997583.62. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the above facts, the Board of Supervisors of Platte County, by this resolution, takes the following official action: 1. If for any reason the Federal Highway Administration rescinds, limits its obligations, or defers payment of the Federal Share of the cost of this project, the county hereby agrees to provide the necessary funds to pay for all costs incurred until and in the event such Federal funds are allowed and paid. 2.The Board hereby concurs in the selection of the above mentioned contractor(s) for the items of work listed, to whom the contract(s) should be awarded. 3.The Board hereby authorized the Chairman to sign the contract(s) with the above mentioned contractor(s) for the above mentioned work. 4.The Board does not desire to perform any of the work with its own forces in lieu of performing the work by the contract method. Moved and seconded file the NIRMA quarterly loss reports ending 1-31-04 for NIRMA and NIRMA II.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to refer the steel bids to the Hwy Supt to review and to report back at the next meeting. Motion carried.Moved and seconded authorize the Co Bd Chairman, Co Sheriff, Co Clk and Co Attorney to sign the agreement with Sarpy Co for inmate housing. Motion carried. Moved and seconded to extend the current contract between Platte Co Public Defender and Madison County for three (3) month and have the Public Defender report back to the Co Bd.Moved and seconded go into executive session at 10:16a.m. to discuss contract issues.Motion carried. Moved and seconded conclude the executive session at 10:41a.m.Motion carried. Committee Reports: Supervisor Martens will be attending a meeting on 3-5-04 at 9:30a.m. in Norfolk on the closing of the regional hlth depts. Supervisor Franzen will be attending a homeland security meeting in Madison. Supervisor Tooley will be attending a Northeast Nebr Solid Waste Coalition meeting in Loup City tonight. Supervisor Friedrichsen attended a meeting in Madison at the juvenile center, everything is going well. He remarked he has some concerns with the county’s draft audit report. Supervisor Woerth is waiting for bids on storage shelving and carpet for the 4th floor. He discussed the mold issue in the courthouse. He also remarked Eller Htg is having trouble finding parts for the boiler. Supervisor Pfeifer attended the hearing in Norfolk on the Leigh Dam issue. He also reminded the Co Bd about the Northeast Dist meeting in Norfolk.
