Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Equalization met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Honorable Ronald Pfeifer, Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens,

Freidrichsen,Lloyd,Woerth,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Pfeifer.The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented.Moved and seconded approve tax corrections #13176 thru #13181 for real estate and personal property as recommended by the Co Assessor.Motion carried.The Co Assessor informed the Co Bd, the permissive exemptions are on file in their office.Moved and seconded approve mtr vehicle exemptions as recommended by the Co Treas.Motion carried.The Chairman adjourned the meeting to 2-17-04 at 9:00a.m. Attest:

Lloyd,Woerth,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Pfeifer.Moved and seconded authorize Civil Defense to purchase a 3/4  ton pickup off the state bid in the amt of $20899.00 to be financed through NACO Leasing. Motion carried.Moved and seconded send a letter to Lt. Governor Dave Heineman, after hearing more on the homeland security grant funding, Platte County does not support allocating approximately $15 million of FY 04 homeland security equip grant funding to the new statewide wireless public safety communications system for tower infrastructure costs, the money should be returned to the counties. Motion carried. The Elect Comm, Register of Deeds and Veterans Office are requesting security buttons for their offices. Moved and seconded to refer the matter of security buttons for the Elect Comm, Register of Deeds and Veterans Office to the Bldg&Grds Comm.Motion carried.The Elect Comm discussed polling place changes with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded approve the minutes of 1-6-04 and 1-8-04.Motion carried.Moved and seconded approve the monthly fee reports.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to have the Co Bd sign the signature report for the Secretary of State. Motion carried.Moved and seconded authorize the Hwy Supt to advertise for steel bids to be opened on 2-17-04 at 9:30a.m.Motion carried.A letter was rec’d from the City of Humphrey requesting to clarify the county/municipality road responsibilities within the corporate city  limits of Humphrey. Moved and seconded have the Hwy Supt respond to the letter from the City Council of the City of Humphrey to clarify the county/municipality road responsibilities. Motion carried.The Co Bd conducted their quarterly jail inspection. Committee Reports: Supervisor Martens attended a Reg IV meeting on Friday, 1-16-04 at which they discussed LB 724 relating to the closing the facility. Supervisor Friedrichsen will be attending a meeting on 1-23-04 at the juvenile facility in Madison. Moved and seconded approve the quote from B-D Constr for a walk-in door at the detention facility in the amt of $1277.00.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the following claims be approved as presented and that the Co Clk be ordered to issue warrants of the same on the respective funds.Motion carried.
