04-28 WHEREAS, the report and study by the Platte Co Hwy Supt has been filed in favor of the vacation of a portion of 12th Avenue located in the NW 1/4 of Section 20, T17N, R1E of the 6th P.M., Platte County, Nebraska; and WHEREAS, all provisions as set forth by Neb.Rev.Stat., Sec 39-1722 have been satisfied. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a public hearing be held in the Supervisors room in the Platte County Courthouse, Columbus, Nebraska on August 17, 2004 at 10:00a.m. The purpose of the hearing is for testimony in favor of and opposition to and to answer questions in relation thereto the abandonment or vacation of part of 12th Avenue or Road No. 566 more accurately described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 4, Columbus Industrial Subdivision of the Northwest Quarter (NW1/4) of Section 20, Township 17 North, Range 1 East of the 6th P.M., in Platte county, Nebraska, said point also being on the south right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 30; thence south on the east line of said Block 4 to the southeast corner of Lot 3, said Block 4; thence East to the southwest corner, Lot 3, Block 5, Columbus Industrial Site Subdivision of said Northwest Quarter (NW1/4); thence North on the west line of said Block 5 to the northwest corner of Lot 1, said Block 5, said point also being on the south right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 30; thence West to the point of beginning, containing 0.63 acres more or less. The Co Treas discussed tax service companies with the Co Bd. The Co Bd decided that the Co Treas not sign a release with the county’s software company for out of state tax service companies to get information on the county’s real estate. Committee Reports: Supervisor Martens will be attending a meeting Thursday at the East-Central Dist Hlth Dept. Supervisor Franzen reported the Weed Dist is requesting to purchase a four wheeler to spray loose leaf along the river. He received several quotes for a Yamaha and a Honda. We would need to purchase a 25 gallon sprayer for the four wheeler. Supervisor Pfeifer suggested looking into the cost of renting one first. Supervisor Lloyd reported that the Road-Bridge Comm is having a meeting with the City Council on 6-21-04 at 2:15p.m. to discuss the North Arterial Agreement. Supervisor Friedrichsen has a meeting at the Juvenile Detention Center in Madison Friday, and there are also working on the budget. Supervisor Woerth reported the emergency generator failed and is getting repaired, the shelving units on 4th floor is almost done, 1st floor hand railing is getting replaced. He also talked about a water line into the Courthouse needs to be repaired. Rec’d a quote from B-D Constr in the amt of $3200.00 to repair this waterline. The County also needs to look at replacing a boiler and also rebuilding an old boiler at an approximate cost of $21000.00 which we would need to put in the budget. He also reported Reg IV will be building a new duplex in Columbus. Moved and seconded to accept the quote from B-D Constr to repair the water line into the courthouse from the alley in the amt of $3200.00.Motion carried.The Co Bd conducted their quarterly jail inspection.
