Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Honorable Ronald Pfeifer,Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Woerth,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Pfeifer. The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Hump Demo for notice of public meeting were presented. Paul Schumacher,Atty presented a Quit Claim Deed for the Cunningham property in Monroe to the Co Bd. Moved and seconded to accept the Nebr Quit Claim Deeds from Fundco,Inc and

CARF Realty 1998,L.L.C. on the property in Monroe and authorize the Chairman to sign the Quit Claim Deed of said property to the Village of Monroe. RESOLUTION NO. 04-19 RESOLUTION TO CLARIFY THE DEFINITION OF “ELIGIBLE VETERAN” CONCERNING STATE OF NEBRASKA VETERANS’ BENEFITS. WHEREAS, It has been the tradition (and practice) of the State of Nebraska, Department of Veterans’ Affairs and numerous counties within the state to accept “General” – “General (under Honorable Conditions)” and “Under Honorable Conditions” discharges as “equivalent” to an “Honorable” discharge; and WHEREAS, The State of Nebraska, Attorney Generals’ office has provided a legal opinion that states there in “no equivalent to an Honorable Discharge; and WHEREAS, Those veterans affected by this legal opinion will no longer be “eligible for State of Nebraska veterans; benefits (excluding them from Homestead Exemption, Nebr Veterans’ Aid, Permanent Hunting and Fishing Permits, County Veterans’ Aid and admission to the Nebr Veterans’ Homes); and WHEREAS, The County Board of Supervisors located in the county of Platte in the State of Nebr, believe that veterans with “General” – “General (Under Honorable Conditions)” and “Under Honorable Conditions” discharges should now have their eligibility for all State of Nebr veterans’ benefits restored by amending the State of Nebr statutes specifically defining them now as eligible for these State of Nebr veterans’ benefits, to insure their continued “eligibility”; now THEREFORE, Be it resolved that the Platte Co Bd of Supervisors meeting this 1st day of June, 2004, request all Nebr State Senators cosponsor a legislative bill to amend the State of Nebr statutes to included those discharges listed above to insure the eligibility for all State of Nebr veterans benefits are restored to these veterans’: and BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be provided to the Director, Nebr Dept of Veterans’ Affairs; Governor, St of Nebr, Chairperson of the Governmental Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee of the St of Nebr Legislature, and the State Senator(s) from the respective districts. Jeff Johnson, Sapp Bros discussed the awarding of the supply bids with the Co Bd. After much discussion the Co Bd and Hwy Supt will look more closely at the bids for propane, gasoline and diesel for next year and thereafter. The Hwy Supt reported on the abandonment of the Monroe Bridge Road No. 473 to the Co Bd.Moved and seconded authorize the Chairman to sign the utility appl for Otte Electric. E-911 street signs and submit the list to the E-911 Committee. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the Co Assessor be instructed to assess the Road Improvement Dist No.1(Viking View Subdivision) against each piece of property for current paving per the assessment schedule and that the Co Treas be instructed to collect the same .Motion carried. BC/BS Subgroup Appl was discussed by the Co Bd to increase the deductible or to remain where we are. Moved and seconded that Platte Co increase their deductible from $250.00 to $500.00 for the upcoming insurance year. Motion carried. Committee Reports: Supervisor Friedrichsen met with the Juvenile Detention Center on 5-28-04 and stated everything is going just fine. Supervisor Franzen had a NIRMA meeting and discussed changes next fiscal year on the county’s workman’s comp and property schedule payments. Supervisor Martens met with the Drainage Comm on drainage issues.
