Supervisor Franzen was excused from the board meeting. The Register of Deeds, Larry Smith from MIPS and Larry Dix from NACO discussed the purchase of computer and software with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded authorize the Register of Deeds to purchase five (5) computers from Connecting Point in the amt of $7915.00 plus the hard drive upgrade at $25.00 per computer to be paid out of the capital account. Purchase the software from MIPS/County Solutions for $55.00 plus $.22 cents per document and to lease a scanner from OfficeNet for $25.00 per month. Motion carried.The Co Sheriff requested to purchase a computer for the Investigators Office and permission for deputies to attend out-of-state conferences. Moved and seconded authorize the Co Sher to purchase a computer from Connecting Point in the amt of $1086.00 to be taken out of the capital acct.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to give the Co Sher blanket permission to send deputies to out-of-state conferences. Motion carried.Moved and seconded authorize Co Crt to lease a copy machine for sixty (60) months from Eakes Office Plus and to purchase the network card for $842.00 to be paid out of the capital acct.Motion carried.Moved and seconded authorize the Chairman to sign the utility appl for Marjorie Osten.Motion carried.Moved and seconded authorize the Chairman to sign the utility appl for Gary Mueller .Motion carried. Public Comments: Barry Wilke addressed the Co Bd regarding a culver that floods out onto his property. He would like to see a bridge in place of the culvert. The Hwy Supt informed the Co Bd and Mr. Wilke the hydrology study shows the culvert is big enough. He also stated he would not receive relief with a larger bridge. He also informed the Co Bd and Mr Wilke he will bring this issue up in January at the One& Six Year Road hearing. Moved and seconded not to purchase the property in Creston and have the Hwy Supt proceed with the project at a cost not to exceed $7000.00,have the Co Atty look into a hold harm agreement and to give the Road-Bridge Comm the authority to act if any other questions come up.Motion carried.Moved and seconded authorize the Co Atty to hire a new deputy atty with a starting salary of $47000.00.Motion failed.Moved and seconded authorize the Co Atty to hire a new deputy atty with a starting salary of $44000.00.Motion carried.
