from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were
presented.Moved and seconded approve tax corrections #13215 for real estate and
personal property as recommended by the Co Assessor.Motion carried. The Co
Assessor informed the Co Bd the permissive exemptions are on file in their
office.Moved and seconded approve the mtr vehicle exemptions as recommended by

complaints on E-911 out in the county regarding meeting notices. Supervisor
Friedrichsen attended a meeting at the Juvenile Detention Facility on which
they discussed to refinance their bond debt. Supervisor Martens will attend a
Reg IV meeting Friday which they will talk about mental hlth reform. Supervisor
Woerth presented quotes on the replacement of ceiling tiles in the following
areas: Dist Courtroom, hallway between courtrooms, large county courtroom and
small county courtroom. Moved and seconded to accept the quote from Dahlberg
Constr in the amt of $13293.00 to replace ceiling tiles in four areas of the
courthouse to be taken out of the Spl Bldg Fund.Motion carried. One and Six
Year road hearing was held at 10:00a.m.
to 11:00a.m. Moved and seconded to
conclude the hearing at 11:10a.m.Motion carried.Moved and seconded approve the
One& Six Year Road Program with the addition of the bridge on the mason
road. Motion carried. A hearing was held at 11:15a.m.
to implement a 2% lodging tax increase to Hotels/Motels. Moved and seconded to
conclude the hearing at 11:25a.m.
The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 05-01 BOARD OF COUNTY
SUPERVISORS PLATTE COUNTY,NEBRASKA RESOLVED WHEREAS: a) The Nebraska Visitors’
Development Act as revised by LB 726 during the 2003 legislative session
creates the Visitors Improvement Fund, imposing up to a 2% sales tax upon the
total consideration charged for occupancy of any lodging space. b) Such sales
tax proceeds are to be used for the improvement of an existing attraction or
promotion encouragement and attraction of visitors to this county. c) It is
desired to use such sales tax proceeds solely for the improvement of a museum
owned by the Columbus Museum
corporation,Inc. located in Columbus,Nebraska.
d) Pursuant to the Act, a public hearing prior to this Resolution has been held.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS BOARD OF COUNTY
SUPERVISORS THAT: 1. Pursuant to
the public hearing, it is advisable and proper that this county establish a
County Visitors’ Improvement Fund; and such fund is hereby established by this
Resolution. 2. In order to assist the Board in the proper allocation and
expenditures of such fund, the Visitors Committee will administer and allocate
the proceeds from the tax provided below, to improve the museum owned by the
Columbus Museum Corporation,Inc. located in Columbus,Nebraska, all in
accordance with the specific purpose of the Act in improving existing
attractions or promoting, encouraging and attracting visitors to come to this
County and to use the travel and tourism facilities therein. 3. There is hereby
imposed, pursuant to the Visitors Improvement Fund, a sales tax of 2% upon the
total consideration charged for occupancy of any space furnished by any lodging
facility located within this county. Upon receipt thereof, such funds shall be
placed in the County Visitors Improvement Fund previously established by this
Resolution. BE IT NEXT RESOLVED BY THIS BOARD OF COUNTY SUPERVISORS THAT all
business records of the Visitors Committee be kept by the Director of the
Columbus/Platte County Convention& Visitors Bureau who is by the Resolution
appointed and directed to serve as the Executive Secretary of the Visitors’
