Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens,Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Woerth,Franzen,Tooley and Pfeifer. The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented. Supervisor Franzen appoints Supervisor Woerth to be Temporary Chairman. Temporary Chairman asks for nominations for Chairman. Supervisor Friedrichsen nominates John Woerth as Chairman. Moved and seconded nominations cease and John Woerth be elected Chairman by acclamation. Motion carried. Chairman Woerth asks for nominations for Vice Chairman. Supervisor Pfeifer nominates B.T. Friedrichsen as Vice Chairman. Moved and seconded nominations cease and B.T. Friedrichsen be elected Vice Chairman by acclamation. Motion carried. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the County pays meals, mileage at .405 cents per mile per state, pre-registration, lodging or fare excluding spouses, while attending conventions meetings and district meetings relative to the business of the County, to elected county officials, department heads, and expenses of their personnel shall be paid if such personnel have been requested to attend meetings or if elected officials or department heads does not attend, he or she may designate their deputy to attend, their expenses will be allowed, the County representative must register and should attend all of the meetings of the convention or their expenses may not be allowed. All claims need to be accompanied by receipts or cancelled checks. The Co Bd may reject any or all claims. All elected and appointed official and department heads need to attend the meetings before requesting registration and expenses reimbursement. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the respective offices and department heads be authorized to purchase items needed in their offices on the open market for the fiscal year 7-1-05 to 6-30-06, but not to exceed $2500.00 per item and if they have the funds in their budget. All items are to be purchased in Platte County if the prices are comparable. The purchasing guidelines must be followed as pre state statute. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the special rules and regulations for 2005 remain as they were in 2004.Motion carried.Moved and seconded the previous motion to include the Burial/Poor& Unemployment Committees together. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the following newspapers be designated as the official papers for the purpose of publishing notices and minutes of all meetings of the Platte Co Bd Supervisors for the year 2005, the rate is not to exceed the legal rate for publications and have the Co Clk notify the Dept of Roads of such designation. Columbus Telegram 60%, Humphrey Democrat 40%.
