Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Honorable John Woerth,Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth. The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented.Moved and seconded to approve the request from Marlene Vetick Clk of Dist Crt to purchase two computers for $2830.00 to be paid from the capital acct.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize Merit Mechanical to fix the leak in the pumps for $7670.00 to be paid from the Bldg Grds budget. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize Eng Technologies to conduct a survey of the buildings mechanical system pertaining to the Co Treas Office not to exceed $5600.00.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize the Co Atty along with Mr. Paul Schumacher Atty to get the proper documents signed in order to purge the back taxes on Lot 6, Blk E, Village of Monroe, prior to purchase. The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 06-02 WHEREAS, the Platte Co Bd Supervisors are in support of the proposed Platte River Bridge Project; and WHEREAS, this project will be a cooperative effort by Butler, Colfax and Platte Counties, with Platte Co serving as the lead agency; and WHEREAS, this project has substantial regional significance. A coalition of nontraditional partners including Butler, Colfax and Platte County Boards have come together in support of this effort to connect the communities of Columbus, David City, Richland, Bellwood and Schuyler; and WHEREAS, the construction of a new bridge, railroad grade separation, and connecting roadway will from a more efficient connection of communities improving access to jobs, agricultural markets and service centers; and WHEREAS, this project would provide economic benefits by providing direct access, including truck access, to the industrial/employment tracts on the east side of Columbus. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED the Platte Co Bd Supervisors support the Platte River Bridge feasibility study east of Columbus, Nebraska which also included a pedestrian/bicycle trail. This approval is contingent on Platte County not being financially responsible for any of this expense and that no state BR or STPE funds, allocated to Platte County, be expended for this project. Committee Reports: Supervisor Martens talked to the St Director and three attys about the CASA Program. He stated it is a good program, but cost wise is it efficient. Supervisor Friedrichsen stated he also visited with a few of the CASA volunteers about the program. Supervisor Martens also commented if the program helps the children, he supports the program. Supervisor Friedrichsen was contacted by Loup Public Power Bd about LB 1130, the creation of transportation district. He also has a meeting in Madison at the Juvenile Detention Facility on 2-24-06. Supervisor Pfeifer rec’d a letter from a county employee regarding life insurance through the county. Supervisor Woerth has a copy of the audit report for NACO which will be on file in the Co Clks Office.Moved and seconded that the following claims be approved as presented and the Co Clk be ordered to issue warrants of the same on the respective funds.
