Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Honorable John Woerth,Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth. The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented. James M Bonesteel discussed his grievance against the Platte Co Detention Facility with the Co Bd. Marlene Vetick,Chairman of the Merit Commission and Jon Zavadil,Co Sheriff were also present. Moved and seconded to authorize the Co Sher to purchase a copy machine from OfficeNet for $995.00 to be paid from the capital acct.Motion withdrawn. Moved and seconded to withdraw the Co Sher request from the agenda to rent a copy machine. Motion carried.A revision of salary Res No. 05-35 was discussed by the Co Bd.Moved and seconded in Res No. 05-35, change paragraph fifteen (15) by deleting the Public Defender Office and insert a new paragraph as stated, but change “and” to “but”: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, beginning with the term of office commencing on January 4, 2007, the Platte County Public Defender shall devote his or her full time to the legal work of the county but may engage in the private practice of law and accept court appointments from courts in other counties with the approval of the county board of supervisors, provided that such private practice does not conflict with the performance of legal work of the county and may directly or indirectly refer legal matters other than those relating to the legal work of the county to other attorneys provided that no fee or other compensation is provided for such referral. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the request of the benefit package in the amt of $5170.00 for the Platte Valley Diversion/Juvenile Services Program for the year beginning 7-1-2006.Motion carried. Sharon Bahr,Gen Assist Adm discussed a claim reimbursement request with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded to deny the rent reimbursement request from Buffalo County in the amt of $250.00.Moved and seconded to remove from the table the purchase of a Claritus Certain Kit. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to deny the request to purchase a Claritus Certain Kit, to enter disaster areas, for the East-Central Dist Hlth Dept and the Emergency Manager. Motion carried. Moved and seconded to approve the salary adjustment for the following Deputy Co Attorneys: Victoria Xiong from $38000.00 to $40000.00 and Sandra Allen from $47500.00 to $48000.00.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize the Chairman to sign two (2) utility appls for Lutjens Farms. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize the Chairman to sign the Co Maintenance Agreements between the Nebr Dept of Roads and Platte County. Motion carried. Moved and seconded to approve the minutes of 12-20-05.Motion carried.Correspondence was rec’d from the City of Columbus requesting a date, time and location be set for an Industrial Tract Review hearing. Moved and seconded the Industrial Tract Review hearing with the City of Columbus be set for 2-7-06 at 10:00a.m. in the Bd of Supervisors Room. Committee Reports: Supervisor Friedrichsen attended a meeting in Madison at the Juvenile Detention Center. Supervisor Lloyd reported the new tower is up on the Maintenance Facility property. They also discussed the disposal of the old county shop property when they are fully moved in and operating. Supervisor Franzen rec’d correspondence from Standard& Poor’s Rating Service and stated the county rec’d an A+ rating on their General Obligation Bonds. Supervisor Woerth reported that at the last safety meeting, the Co Treas brought up the issue of mold in the air in their office. The Bldg Grds Comm will get cost estimates for a study on the air flow in the Hall of Justice.
