ORGANIZATION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS PLATTE COUNTY,NEBRASKA Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Honorable John Woerth,Chairman, Diane C Pinger,Co Clk.Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens,Freidrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer, Franzen, Tooley and Chairman Woerth.The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented. Supervisor Franzen appoints Supervisor Woerth to be Temporary Chairman. The Temporary Chairman asks for nominations for Chairman. Supervisor Friedrichsen nominates John Woerth as Chairman. Moved and seconded that nominations cease and John Woerth be elected Chairman be acclamation. Motion carried.Chairman Woerth asks for nominations for Vice Chairman. Supervisor Pfeifer nominates B.T. Friedrichsen as Vice Chairman. Moved and seconded that nominations cease and B.T. Friedrichsen be elected Vice Chairman by acclamation. Motion carried.The Chairman may call a recess to select his committees for the year 2006. Moved and seconded to appoint Dr. Ronald Klutman as County Medical Consultant, Sheriff Jon Zavadil as Chairman and Clerk Diane C Pinger Secretary of the Platte County Hlth Bd for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to appoint Frederick M. Liss as Hwy Supt for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to appoint David Gilsdorf as the Platte Co Weed Supt for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the proper notice be published for each Board meeting and the Bd of Supervisors designate the first and third Tuesday of each month at 9:00a.m. during 2006 as their tentative meeting days, subject to modification due to circumstances that may arise. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the County pays meals, mileage at .445 cents per mile per state,pre-registration, lodging or fare excluding spouses, while attending conventions, meetings and district meetings relative to the business of their personnel shall be paid if such personnel have been requested to attend meetings or if elected officials of department heads does not attend, he or she may designate their deputy to attend, their expenses will be allowed. All claims need to be accompanied by receipts or cancelled checks. The Co Bd may reject any or all claims. All elected and appointed officials and department heads need to attend the meetings before requesting registration and expense reimbursement. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the respective offices and department heads be authorized to purchase items needed in their offices on the open market for the fiscal year July 1, 2006 to June 30,2007, but not to exceed $2500.00 per item and if they have the funds in their budget. All items are to be purchased in Platte County if the prices are comparable. The purchasing guidelines must be followed as per state statute. Motion carried.Moved and seconded the special rules and regulations for 2006 remain as they were in 2005.Motion carried. Moved and seconded that the following newspapers be designated as the official papers for the purpose of publishing notices and minutes of all meetings of the Platte Co Bd Supervisors for the year 2006,the rate is not to exceed the legal rate for publications and have the Co Clk notify the Dept of Roads of such designation, Columbus Telegram 60%, Humphrey Democrat 40%.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the Special Engineer for 2006 be selected by project.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Martens be appointed to the Reg IV Mtl Hlth Bd for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Woerth be appointed to Northstar,Inc Bd for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Friedrichsen be appointed to represent Platte County on the Board of Central Community College for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Pfeifer be appointed to serve on the Northeast Nebr Economic Development Bd for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Tooley serve as Chairman of the Burial/Poor & Unemployment Committee for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Friedrichsen be appointed to serve on the Juvenile Detention Committee for 2006 with Supervisor Martens as an alternate. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Franzen be appointed to represent Platte County on the Chamber Board for 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Tooley be appointed to represent Platte County on the Central Nebr Community Service Board for 2006.Motion carried.
