session beginning at 9:00 in the

Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth. The Aff
Publ from the Col Tele and Humph for notice of public meeting were
presented.Moved and seconded to approve the agenda. Motion carried.Moved and
seconded to approve the Bd Equalization minutes for 4-18-06.Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to approve tax corrections #13287 thru #13297 for
real estate and personal property as recommended by the Co Assessor.Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to approve the permissive exemption for the Mission
Investment Fund of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to approve the mtr vehicle exemptions for the
following as recommended by the Co Treas: Holy Family Church& School,
Sisters of Saint Francis, Rainbow Center,
Boy Scout Troop 276, Boy Scout Troop 402 and Columbus Housing Authority. Motion

carried. Lori Swantek, Business Manager for Twin River Public Schools discussed
checks rec’d from the Co Treas Office for three funds. Lori Swantek was unable
to attend the meeting, the Co Bd talked to the Co Treas about this issue and Mr
Friedrichsen volunteered to talk with Lori Swantek. The Industrial Tract
hearing with the City of Columbus was held at 10:00a.m.Moved and seconded to
conclude the hearing at 10:27a.m.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to not
remove Lot 6 from the County Industrial Tract.Motion carried.Moved and seconded
to not remove Lot 7 from the County Industrial Tract.Motion carried.Moved and
seconded to authorize Richard Chisholm Dist Probation Officer to purchase ten
(10) computers not to exceed $12000.00.Motion carried.The Co Bd considered
annual supplies for the Hwy Dept.Moved and seconded to accept the culvert bid
from Midwest Service& Sales as presented. Motion carried. Moved and
seconded to accept the gravel bids from Central Sand& Gravel as presented.
Motion carried. Wilma Arp, Platte Valley Diversion Program Director, requested
the Co Bd’ s approval to begin the full-time salary payment of $23400.00
beginning 6-1-06. Moved and seconded to approve the request of Wilma Arp,Platte Valley Diversion Program Director for the full-time
salary payment of $23400.00 to begin 6-1-06.Motion carried.The Co Bd had a
discussion on the Platte Co Historical Museum. Moved and seconded to remove
item 2 from the agenda.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to file the St Nebr
DEQ compliance with construction approval for the following: Korus Farms, Wayne
Rasmussen Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation and Harry Kurtenbach Animal
Feeding Operation. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize the Chairman
to sign the renewal contract with East-Central Dist Hlth Dept for continued
medical and nurses services at the Platte Co Detention Facility. Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to file the NIRMA and NIRMA II loss reports for the
quarter ending 4-30.2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to file the Cable
Nebr USA service report for March 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to
file the Gen Assist Adm report for April 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded
to authorize the Chairman to sign the roadway surface maint agreement with the
St Nebr Dept of Roads.Motion carried.The Co Atty had a discussion with the Co
Bd on the Deputy Atty salaries and a new position. Committee Reports: Supervisor
Martens attended a meeting at the East-Central Dist Hlth Dept where they
discussed the medical and nurses services contract as
presented by the Co Sher.Supervisor Tooley talked a little about the county’s
self funding hlth insurance. Supervisor Friedrichsen attended a meeting at the
Juvenile Detention Facility in Madison
and will attend another meeting on5-26-06. supervisor
Woerth reported the installation of the new boiler is complete. Moved and
seconded that the following claims be approved as presented and the Co Clk be
ordered to issue warrants of the same on the respective funds. Motion carried.
