Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in
session beginning at 9:00 in the
morning. Honorable John Woerth,Chairman,Diane C
Pinger,Co Clk. Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors
Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth.The
Chairman informed the general public of the posting of the open meeting
laws.The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting
were presented.Moved and seconded to approve the agenda as presented. Motion
carried. Sherry Pfeifer is doing a follow-up on the funding request for CASA.
She also discussed health insurance issues with the Co Bd. Joe Mangiameli, City
Adm discussed the agreement with the St of Nebr Dept of Roads on a shared cost
between the St of Nebr, City of Columbus
and Platte County
on a feasibility study on the west bypass. Public Comments: Senator Stuthman
provided his input on the west and east bypass. Moved and seconded to approve
the minutes of 8-15-06, 8-22-06 and 8-29-06. Motion carried.A hearing was held at 9:45a.m. to accept a 3.5% increase for budget
year 2006-2007.Moved and seconded to conclude the hearing at 9:46a.m.Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to accept the 3.5% increase for budget year
2006-2007 starting July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007.Motion carried.The Co
Assessor answered questions the Co Bd had regarding her budget for fiscal year
2006-2007.Moved and seconded to adopt and authorize the Chairman to sign the
Platte County National Incident Management System Plan as presented by Tim
Hofbauer, Emergency Manager. Motion carried. Allan Vyhnalek, Ext Educator
discussed his current budget request with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded to
approve the Co Attys request to attend an out-of-state conference in South
Carolina from Sept
18-21, 2006 with the airfare and seminar paid by the Nat’l College
of District Attorneys. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to allow the Hwy Supt
to purchase a fabric tension structure for a salt storage facility from Farm
& Ranch Building Supply in the amt of $6810.76.Motion carried.Moved and
seconded to authorize the Chairman to sign five (5) utility appl for Cornhusker
PPD.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize the Chairman to sign twelve (12)
utility appl for Qwest.Motion carried.Mr. Evans, representative for ADM
discussed the expansion and request county participation with an area traffic
study with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded the county commit to the area traffic
study with ADM, City of Columbus
and Economic Development. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to accept the bid
for cleaning the courthouse from ServiceMaster by Shevlin for $5824.18 monthly
to be effective Nov 1, 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to authorize the
Chairman to sign the auctioneers agreement with Buss Auction& Realty
Company on the sale of the Platte Center property.Motion carried.The Hwy Supt
discussed his budget for fiscal year 2006-2007 with the Co Bd.The Co Bd had a
discussion regarding Lower Elkhorn NRD making improvements to a county road
with the Co Atty.Moved and seconded to file the Co Treas receipts representing

reported the Road-Bridge Comm met with the Hwy Supt and discussed his budget.
Supervisor Martens reported the Bldg Grds Comm met at the county shop regarding
the sale of the Platte Center
property. Moved and seconded that the following claims be approved as presented
and the Co Clk issue warrants of the same on the respective funds.Motion
