Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Equalization met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning.Honorable John Woerth,Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk.Roll call and the following members present:Supervisors Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth.The Chairman inform the general public of the posting of the open meeting laws.The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented.Moved and seconded to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the minutes of 8-15-06.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve tax correction #13307 on real estate and personal property as recommended by the Co Assessor.Motion carried.The Co Assessor presented an appraisal estimate from Great Plains Appraisal Inc on ADM (Minnesota Corn Processors).Moved and seconded to allow the Co Assessor to hire Great Plains Appraisal to do an appraisal of ADM (Minnesota Corn Processors) in the amt of $4000.00 to be paid from the misc acct.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the following vehicle exemptions as recommended by the Co Treasurer: St Francis Church & School and Columbus Comm Hospital. Motion carried.The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 06-20 WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statutes 77-1601.02 provides that the property tax request for the prior year shall be the property tax request for the current year for purposes of the levy set by the Co Bd of Equalization unless the governing body of the Platte County Board of Supervisors passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request at a different amount; and WHEREAS, a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Platte County that the property tax request for the current year be a different amount than the property tax request for the prior year.NOW,THEREFORE,the Platte County Board of Supervisors, by a majority vote resolves that: 1. The 2006-2007 property tax request be set at $4,485,075 for the General Fund, $52,000 for the County/Medical,$208,000 for State Institutions,$26,000 for Special Building,$676,000 for Jail Bond and $130,000 for the Library, for a total of $5,577,075. 2. Motion carried.The following resolution was presented: STATE OF NEBRASKA RESOLUITON OF ADOPTION AND APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION NO. 06-21 WHEREAS, a proposed county budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 prepared by the budget making authority, was transmitted to the County Board on the 19th day of September,2006.NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of Platte County,Nebraska as follows: SECTION 1. That the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 as categorically evidenced by the budget documents be, and the same hereby is, adopted as the budget for Platte County for said fiscal year. SECTION 2. That the offices, departments, activities and institutions herein named are hereby authorized to expend the amounts herein appropriated to them during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007. SECTION 3. That the income necessary to finance the appropriations made and expenditures authorized shall be provided out of the encumbered cash balance in each fund, revenues other than taxation to be collected during the fiscal year in each fund, and tax levy requirements for each fund. Meal allotment was also discussed. Supervisor Friedrichsen attended the extension meeting, everything went well. He will also be attending a meeting on Friday(22) at the Juvenile Detention Center. Supervisor Tooley reported for the Personnel Committee and they met with the Veterans Service Committee regarding the Veterans Service Officer and they also discussed multi-county services. He rec’d a call from the general assistance adm regarding a burial issue and the income guidelines. Supervisor Lloyd attended the Safety Committee meeting at the Hwy Dept shop. He was also contacted by the Columbus Township Board requesting he attend their next meeting. Supervisor Martens attended the CART trail meeting, he also attended a meeting regarding Reg IV.Supervisor Woerth rec’d a letter from Husker Coop on the overpass issue.He also rec’d a letter from the Nebr Dep on Air Quality regarding ADM.He also rec’d a complaint from an extension office employee regarding mold in their office. The county maintenance employee checked to see if there was mold and the report came back negative.
