Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Equalization met in
session beginning at 9:00 in the morning.Honorable John P Woerth,Chairman,Diane
C Pinger,Co Clk.Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors
Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth.The
Chairman informed the general public on the posting of the open meeting
laws.The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting
were presented.Moved and seconded to approve the agenda as presented.Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to approve the minutes of 3-20-07.Motion carried.Moved
and seconded to approve tax corrections #13340 thru #13348 on personal property
and real estate as recommended by the Co Assessor.Motion carried.Moved and
seconded to approve the following mtr vehicle exemptions as recommended by the
Co Treas: Highland Park Evangelical Free Church, Columbus Community Hospital,
YMCA, Girl Scouts Prairie Hills Council of NE, Inc., Troop 276 Boy Scouts of

session beginning at 9:10a.m.
Honorable John P Woerth, Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co
Clk.Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors
Martens,Friedrichsen, Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth.The
Chairman informed the general public on the posting of the open meeting laws.
Moved and seconded to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried. Chuck
Niedbalski, Jay Jackson, Eldon Mohrman and Joe Nelson discussed the condition
of 48th Avenue
where the blacktop ends going north of Shell Creek. Their comments are, the
road is terribly dangerous and needs to be paved. There is more housing in this
area which has increased the traffic tremendously. Safe drivers have a problem
with the road and the ditches are also filling in. Supervisor Martens stated
that he tried to get this road in the One and Six Year
Road plan and did not receive the support from the rest of the board members.
The Hwy Supt stated that we have been having problems with this road for a
number of years. Supervisor Friedrichsen suggested the Road-Bridge Comm meet
with the Hwy Supt to seriously look at this road.Moved and seconded to
authorize the Co Sher to purchase three (3) computers for $4203.00 which
includes the software to be paid from the capital acct.Motion carried. Harry
Laudenklos and Kenny Urkoski from the Monroe Fire Dept discussed the purchase
of a new fire truck with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded to authorize Allan
Vyhnalek,Ext Educator to purchase a computer in the amt of $133.16 to be paid
from the capital acct. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to accept the carpet
bid in the amt of $2840.00 from Wize Buys Carpet for carpet in the basement
hallways (east end of older building) to be paid from Bld Grds.Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to approve the minutes of 4-3-07.Motion
carried.Moved and seconded to accept the quote from Gene’s Lawn& Tree
Service for the weekly mowing and spraying of weeds in the rock areas and to
authorize the Bldg Grds Comm to make arrangements to have sidewalk sprayed and
along the courthouse. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to have the Co Clk to
advertise for bids for a high volume copy machine to be opened on 5-15-07 at 9:30a.m.Motion carried. Ken Berney, Lower Elkhorn NRD presented an update on the Leigh Dam
project to the Co Bd.Moved and seconded to authorize the Chairman to sign the
utility appl for Joe Eisenmenger.Motion carried. Moved and seconded to
authorize the Hwy Supt to advertise for supply bids to be opened on 5-15-07 at
9:45a.m.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the wage package for the
Hwy Dept shop employees in Platte Center of 3% increase to be effective 4-23-07
and to approve the salary increases for the office staff of the Hwy Dept as
follows: Hwy Supt from $47000.00 to $48500.00, Assist Hwy Supt from $35250.00
to $37000.00 and Deputy Clk from $30900.00 to $32000.00 to be effective
5-1-07.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to have the Co Clk advertise for a new
phone system for the Platte County Courthouse to be opened on 5-15-07 at
10:15a.m.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the monthly fee

representing credit to the respective funds: Alice’s Cedar Inn, grant

Service Officers quarterly report ending 3-31-07.Motion carried.Moved and
seconded to file the Veterans Aid Expenditures report for 3-31-07.Motion
carried. Moved and seconded to file the Col Public Library report for March
2007.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to file the PrairieLand RC&D meeting
minutes for 3-20-07.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the
performance bond for Jebro Inc.Motion carried.Committee Reports: Supervisor
Friedrichsen will be attending a meeting Friday (20) at the Juvenile Detention
Facility in Madison. Supervisor Tooley reported the Personnel Committee met and
discussed the sick leave language in the employee handbook. He also discussed
medicaid payments on inmate bills through the hospital. Supervisor Martens
reported he will be attending the East Central Dist Hlth Dept annual meeting.
He also attended the Ext Bd meeting and they talked about the phone system and
the 2nd floor copy machine. Supervisor Woerth reported the Bldg Grds
Comm are looking at having the steps on the east side
of the courthouse replaced and to have an architect look at the issue. Moved
and seconded that the following claims be approved as presented and the Co Clk
be ordered to issue warrant of the same on the respective funds.Motion carried.
