Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning.Honorable John Woerth,Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk.Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth.The Chairman informed the general public on the posting of the open meeting laws.The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented.Moved and seconded to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried.Rebecca Rayman,ECDHD presented their quarterly report. Moved and seconded to approve the new contract with CBM Food Serv as presented by the Co Sher.Motion carried.Moved and seconded the salary for Veterans Serv Officer be set at $32900.00 effective January 1,2007 and $35900.00 for the Emergency Manager effective January 1,2007.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the request of the Co Clk to purchase a laser printer in the amt of $2064.12 to be paid from the capital acct.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for prosecution for the City of Columbus from January 5,2007 to March 15,2011 as presented by the County Atty.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the claim to CDW Govt in the amt of $127.68 to be paid from the capital acct this one time only. Kurt Genrich and Bill Wade discussed the NACO sponsored Life Insurance Policy with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded to accept the offer from Colonial Benefits Solutions for Group Life Ins for Platte in the amt of $15000.00 of coverage at 20 cents per 1000 to be effective February 1,2007.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to allow Colonial Benefits Solution to offer voluntary life insurance to Platte County employees. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to purchase the softener for both boilers in the amt of $989.00 to be paid from the Bldg Grds budget. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the purchase of adding two water sensors in the two mechanical rooms and interface them into the fire alarm system in the amt of $890.00 to be paid from the Bldg Grds budget. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the tile replacement in the restrooms by the Emergency Manager in the amt of $870.00 to be paid from the Bldg Grds budget. Supervisors Pfeifer and Lloyd reported Mr Larry Sueper is requesting a meeting with the Co Atty and the Road-Bridge Comm to discuss the parking issue in St. Bernard. Supervisor Woerth reported the Bldg Grds Comm conducted their quarterly jail inspection and found it to be satisfactory. Pursuant to adjournment the Platte County Bd of Supervisors met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning. Supervisor Franzen appoints Supervisor Woerth to be Temporary Chairman. Temporary Chairman asks for nominations for Chairman. Supervisor Friedrichsen nominates Supervisor Woerth as Chairman. Moved and seconded that nominations cease and Supervisor Woerth be elected Chairman by acclamation. Motion carried.Chairman Woerth asks for nominations for Vice-Chairman. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the county pay meals, mileage at .485 cents per mile per state, pre-registration, lodging or fare excluding spouses, while attending conventions, meetings and district meetings relative to the business of the County, to elected county officials, department heads, and expenses of their personnel shall be paid if such personnel have been requested to attend meetings or if elected officials or department heads does not attend, he or she may designate their deputy to attend, their expenses will be allowed, the county representative must register and should attend all of  the meetings of the convention or their expenses may not be allowed. All claims need to be accompanied by receipts or cancelled checks. All elected and appointed officials and department heads need to attend the meetings before requesting registration and expenses re-imbursement. The County Board may reject any or all claims. Claims for personal re-imbursement less than $5.00 will not be approved.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the respective offices and department heads be authorized to purchase items needed in their offices on the open market for the fiscal year July 1,2007 to June 30,2008, but not to exceed $2500.00 per item and if they have the funds in their budgets. All items are to be purchased in Platte County if the prices are comparable. The purchasing guidelines must be followed as per state statute. Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the special rules and regulations for 2007 remain as they were in 2006.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the following newspapers be designated as the official papers for the purpose of publishing notices and minutes of all meetings of the Platte County Board of Supervisors for the year 2007, the rate is not to exceed the legal rate for publications and have the Co Clk notify the Dept of Roads of such designation. Columbus Telegram 60%, Humphrey Democrat 40%.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that the Special Engineer for 2007 e selected by project.Motion carried.Moved and seconded that Supervisor Martens be appointed to the Reg IV Mental Hlth Bd for 2007.Motion withdrawn.
