Pursuant to adjournment the Platte Co Bd Equalization met in session beginning at 9:00 in the morning.Honorable John P Woerth,Chairman,Diane C Pinger,Co Clk.Roll call and the following members present: Supervisors Martens, Friedrichsen,Lloyd,Pfeifer,Franzen,Tooley and Chairman Woerth.The Chairman informed the public of the posting of the open meeting laws.The Aff Publ from the Col Tele and Humph Demo for notice of public meeting were presented. Moved and seconded to approve the agenda as presented.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the minutes 8-21-2007.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve tax corrections #13360, #13364 and #13365 on personal property and real estate as recommended by the County Assessor.Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the following motor vehicle exemptions as recommended by the Co Treasurer: St Francis School. 9-4-07.Motion carried.The Co Bd conducted their quarterly jail inspection. A hearing was held at 9:20a.m. to set the final tax request at a different amt than the prior year. Moved and seconded to conclude the hearing at 9:20a.m. Motion carried.The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 07-34 WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statutes 77-1601.02 provides that the property tax request for the prior year shall be the property tax request for the prior year shall be the property tax request for the current year for purposes of the levy set by the County Board of Equalization unless the governing body of the Platte County Board of Supervisors passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request at a different amount; and WHEREAS, a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Platte County that the property tax request for the current year be a different amount than the property tax request for the prior year.NOW,THEREFORE,The, the Platte County Board of Supervisors, by a majority vote, resolves that:

1.The 2007-2008 property tax request be set at $4,712,415 for the General Fund, $53,300 for the Relief/Medical, $156,000 for State Institutions, $26,000 for Special Building, $676,000 for Jail Bond and $138,861 for the Library, for a total of $5,762,576. 2. A copy of this resolution be certified and forwarded the County Clerk prior to 10-13-07. Motion carried.The Co Sher discussed his jail budget with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded to authorize the Co Sher to purchase a Savin 3515 with networking for $1295.00 and a Savin 3515  for $1095.00 to be paid out of the capital acct.Motion carried.A hearing was held at 9:30a.m. to adopt the County Budget. Moved and seconded to conclude the hearing at 9:34a.m.Motion carried.The following resolution was presented: STATE OF NEBRASKA RESOLUTION OF ADOPTION AND APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION NO. 07-35 WHEREAS, a proposed county budget for the fiscal year July 1,2007 to June 30,2008 prepared by the budget making authority, was transmitted to the County Board on the 18th day of September,2007.NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,BY THE Board of Supervisors of Platte County,Nebraska as follows: SECTION 1. That the budget for the fiscal year July 1,2007 to June 30,2008 as categorically evidenced by the budget document be, and the same hereby is, adopted as the budget for Platte County for said fiscal year. SECTION 2. That the offices, departments, activities and institutions herein named are hereby authorized to expend the amounts herein appropriated to them during the fiscal year beginning July 1,2007 and ending June 30,2008. SECTION 3. That the income necessary to finance the appropriations made and expenditures authorized shall be provided out of the unencumbered cash balance in each fund, revenues other than taxation to be collected during the fiscal year in each fund, and tax levy requirements for each fund. Motion carried.Committee Reports: Supervisor Friedrichsen reported he will be attending a Chamber of Commerce meeting on 9-24-07 and a Juvenile Detention meeting in Madison on 9-28-07. Supervisor Martens attended the extension board meeting where they discussed budget issues. The Board of Supervisors discussed and decided to recommend that all salary adjustments be made effective January 1 of each year.Supervisor Woerth talked to Gilmore& Assoc on the plans for the remodeling of the east and south exterior entries.
