Wilma Arp discussed the continuation of the Comprehensive Juvenile Services Program with the Co Bd.Moved and seconded to approve the 12th Street Paving Improvements, specifications and cost estimate for Katana Road as presented by Rick Bogus of Gilmore& Associates. Motion carried.Moved and seconded to approve the request from Lisa Kaslon to attend an out-of-state workshop in Denver, Colorado on 1-7-09.Motion carried. The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 08-57 WHEREAS, the County of Platte, a governmental subdivision of the State of Nebraska, desires to pursue construction of a viaduct located at the railroad crossing at East 29th Avenue utilizing State, Federal, Local and private funding; and WHEREAS, a requirement of suing said funding includes the closure of a second at grade crossing; and WHEREAS, the City of Columbus Council on December 1st, 2008 agreed to allow the closure of East 14th Avenue rail crossing as part of said project; not therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that in addition to closure of East 29th Avenue crossing, the East 14th Avenue crossing shall be closed as part of said viaduct project, provided said closure shall not occur until the East 29th Avenue viaduct is completed and open to traffic. /s/Diane C Pinger Platte County Clerk. Tom Maul,Atty discussed Res No. 08-57 on the closure of the East 14th Avenue crossing in conjunction with East 29th Avenue viaduct with the Co Bd. His clients would like to see the East 44th avenue crossing closed rather than the East 14th crossing. Diane Klug, Jerry Jaixen and Bob Rickert all spoke in favor of closing the East 14th Avenue crossing. Moved and seconded to adopt Res No. 08-57 as read, to close the East 14th Avenue crossing in conjunction with the East 29th Avenue viaduct. Motion carried.The Hwy Supt discussed the Haul Route Agreement with TransCanada Keystone Pipeline with the Co Bd and he will work with the Co Atty to make adjustments and bring back to the Co Bd at a later date. Supervisor Franzen rec’d an invitation to the Col Chamber of Commerce Transportation meeting. Supervisor Friedrichsen attended the Reg IV meeting, the safe haven law has stirred up all sorts of new ideas in regards to problem children.
