Moved and seconded to conclude the hearing at 9:21a.m. Motion carried.The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 08-42 WHEREAS,Nebr Revised Statutes 77-1601.02 provides that the property tax request for the prior year shall be the property tax request for the current year for purposes of the levy set by the County Board of Equalization unless the Governing Body of the Platte County Board of Supervisors passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request at a different amount; and WHEREAS,a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request; and WHEREAS,it is in the best interest of Platte County that the property tax request for the current year be a different amount than the property tax request for the prior year.NOW,THEREFORE,the Platte County Board of Supervisors, by a majority vote, resolves that: 1.The 2008-2009 property tax request be set at $5038225.00 for the General Fund, $25000.00 for the County/Medical, $208000.00 for State Institutions, $26000.00 for Special Building, $675000.00 for Jail Bond and $138583.00 for the Library, for a total of $6110808.00. 2.A copy of this resolution be certified and forwarded to the County Clerk prior to Oct 15,2008.Passed and adopted this 16^th day of Sept,2008. /s/Robert J Lloyd, Chairman Platte County Board of Supervisors /s/Diane C Pinger Platte County Clerk. The following resolution was presented: STATE OF NEBRASKA RESOLUTION OF ADOPTION AND APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION NO 08-43WHEREAS, a proposed county budget for the fiscal year July 1,2008 to June 30,2009 prepared by the budget making authority, was transmitted to the County Board on the 16^th day of September,2008.NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,BY THE Board of Supervisors of Platte County,Nebraska as follows: SECTION 1.That the budget for the fiscal year July 1,2008 to June 30,2009 as categorically evidenced by the budget document be, and the same hereby is, adopted as the budget for Platte County for said fiscal year. SECTION 2.That the offices, departments, activities and institutions herein named are hereby authorized to expend the amounts herein appropriated to them during the fiscal year beginning July 1,2008 and ending June 30,2009. SECTION 3.That the income necessary to finance the appropriations made and expenditures authorized shall be provided out of the unencumbered cash balance in each fund, revenues other than taxation to be collected during the fiscal year in each fund, and tax levy requirements for each fund.
