Deb Loseke director of the Columbus/Platte County Convention and Visitors Bureau, KC Belitz president of the Chamber of Commerce and Tom Theilen, vice-president of the Col Aquatic Assoc discussed the funds from the Co Visitors Improvement Fund with the Co Bd. Tim Hofbauer,Emergency Manager discussed the Grant Funded Special Project Employee. Tim reported the Columbus/Platte County Emergency Management Connect Columbus and the Col Area United Way applied for a VISTA placed employee to help with special project related to preparedness, education outreach and funding. There is no cost to the County or United Way for the person. All wages benefits are provided through the VISTA program run by the federal government. A hearing was held at 9:45 a.m. to open the County Budget for an additional $85,000.00 in the State Institutions Fund. Moved and seconded to conclude the hearing at 9:47a.m.Motion carried.The following resolution was presented: RESOLUTION NO. 09-09 WHEREAS, the Platte County Board of Supervisors have declared an emergency in the County within the State Institutions Fund as state in State Statute 13-510: WHEREAS,the purpose is to account for the revenue earmarked for the county’s share of the cost for patient care at state institutions and for juvenile safekeeping costs for residents of the county: WHEREAS,a need of an additional appropriation of eighty five thousand dollars ($85,000.00) in expenditures exists for the continued operation of the State Institutions Fund for the remainder of the 2008-09 fiscal year. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of Platte County,Nebraska on the 3rd day of March,2009,that said Board of Supervisor authorize the County Clerk to increase the budget to spend an additional eighty find thousand dollars ($85,000.00) from the State Institutions Fund for the remainder of the fiscal year.
