We are located on the first floor (lobby), middle of the Platte County Courthouse building on 14th Street & 26th Avenue in Columbus NE.

General Assistance provide the necessities of life to persons who meet the eligibility guidelines. Necessities of life include shelter and heat. We do not pay for deposits, phones, sundries, or food.

Income guidelines are the first set of criteria, you may phone for these; they are based on family size. You must also have been employed for 90 consecutive days out of the past six - (6) months. 

Emergency medical assistance can also be provided when eligibility guidelines are meet.
